August 17th | Citizen Science Field Day - Los Padres National Forest
Citizen Science Field Day with CalNAM & Adventure Scientists
Insect Field Samples at Los Padres National Forest
Join the California Nature Art Museum & Adventure Scientists for a citizen science field day on Sunday, August 17th 2025 from 7:00AM-3:00PM, in Los Padres National Forest. By collecting soil and insects, volunteers will support the accrual of environmental DNA data to help increase ecosystem understanding and inform conservation policies. Collected data will be submitted as a contribution to the California 30X30 Pathways Strategy, which aims to conserve 30% of the state of California by 2030.
This important field sampling event is being conducted in partnership with Adventure Scientists. The Adventure Scientists mission is to ensure the availability of critical field data that accelerates conservation and climate solutions. They achieve their mission by mobilizing and training outdoor enthusiasts and local communities to collect high-quality scientific data that are difficult to access, require too large a scale, or are too costly to obtain with traditional methods.
