August 31st | Artist Gallery Tour with Yosemite Photographer William Neill

Featuring more than 40 photographs and spanning over 41 years (1982-2023), Yosemite: Sanctuary in Stone showcases William Neill’s extensive and longstanding dedication to the beauty of one of California’s first National Parks, celebrating everything from its grand vistas to the tiniest and most intimate details.
During this artist-directed gallery tour, attendees will learn more about the exhibition directly from the show’s solo photographer and be offered the chance to ask questions about the park, his process, his time being mentored by Ansel Adams, and more.
This offering is FREE for CalNAM Members, and $5 for Non-Member Adults. Advance registration is required, 25 attendees max. If you are a member, please make your free reservation by emailing Assistant Director Rachel Metz at rachel@calnatureartmuseum.org.

About the Artist
William Neill, a resident of Yosemite since 1977, has had his work widely published in books, magazines, and posters, and his fine art prints have been collected and exhibited in museums and galleries nationally. He served as the photographer and curator at The Ansel Adams Gallery for five years, and received the Sierra Club's Ansel Adams Award for conservation photography in 1995.
In addition to this exhibition, William Neill has a published book by the same name, which is a photographic celebration of Yosemite National Park, capturing its breathtaking landscapes through evocative imagery. Neill’s work reflects a deep reverence for nature, portraying the grandeur and serenity of the park's iconic rock formations, waterfalls, and forests. The book emphasizes the importance of preserving such natural wonders, inviting readers to experience Yosemite's timeless beauty.
