Visions of the Night Sky is an exhibit that showcases talented student artists and is the culmination of 2013-14 third grade astronomy units in Santa Ynez Valley schools.  Since 2002, the Save Our Stars Committee of Women’s Environmental Watch has sponsored Astronomy in the Schools presentations to enrich the teachers’ astronomy work with their students.  Students not only learn about astronomy but how controlling outdoor lighting protects animal and human health and enables young and old to enjoy the splendor of the Valley’s dark skies.   Astronomy is required in the science curriculum for Grades 3, 5 and 8 in California.
